Shimatetsu Cafe Train and Shimabara Castle collaborated! Wabitabi tabi

Shimabara Railway will begin operation of the “Shimatetsu Cafe Train Wabi Tabi” in April 2024 as a new plan for the sightseeing train “Shimatetsu Cafe Train” that incorporates the qualities of Japanese culture! The plan is a collaboration with Shimabara Castle, which is celebrating its 400th anniversary, and includes a tour plan so that passengers can enjoy the castle town of Shimabara even after getting off the train!

 

And before the start of the service, a special run will be held on February 17.

Shimatetsu Cafetrain “wabi tabi” special service

1. Date of operation: February 17, 2024 (Saturday)

2. Operation time: Departure from Isahaya Station (11:10) → Arrival at Shimabara Station (13:10)

3. Price Adults 6,500 yen (including tax) Elementary school students 3,000 yen (including tax) ※Children under elementary school age are free of charge. However, meals are not included.

4. Contents of the tour
(1)Enjoy Unzen Shimabara tea in Hasami-ware teapots and teacups.
(2) Menu items that go well with the tea (bean confections, omusubi (rice balls), kneaded sweets, and baked sweets)
(3) Start selling locally brewed sake.
(4) Staff members in samue will be available to serve you.
(5) Shimabara Castle Shichimangoku Busyoutai will greet visitors at Shimabara Station
(6) Stamp rally (collect stamps to get a castle seal)
(7)Guided tour (about 90 min.) by the military commanders (free participation)
(8)Optional Kimono and Armor dressing experience at Shimabara Castle
2,500 yen per person (tax included) *Up to 5 people per day each (reservation required/received by 15:00 on the day)
(9)Includes a one-way train ticket for “Shimabara Station→Isahaya Station” (stopover invalid, can be used until the next day)
