400th Anniversary

We will hold “Shimabara Mirai Campus” in 2023!

The “Shimabara Mirai Campus” will be held with the aim of conveying the true nature of Shimabara’s history and culture, reaffirming the splendor of Shimabara, and passing it on to the next generation!

We hope you will learn about the history and culture and become a “Shimabara Castle Fan”!

  •  Where: Shimabara Culture Hall, Small Hall B
  •  Speaker: Shokei University Professor Masanori Takeda


  • Part 2: Shimabara Peninsula and the Shimadzu Clan

  •  When: Saturday, July 15, 2023 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  •  Where: Main Hall, Moridake Community Center
  •  Lecturer: Mr. Kazuhito Shinna, Part-time lecturer at the University of Minamikyushu


  • The 3rd “Dialogue between Shigemasa Matsukura and Father Navarro: As a Cornerstone of the Luzon Strategy Plan

  •  When: Saturday, July 29, 2023, 14:00-16:00
  •  Where: Main Hall, Moridake Community Center
  •  Lecturer: Associate Professor Mihoko Oka, University of Tokyo


  • Session 4: “Kyushu in the Nanboku-cho Period: Focusing on the Shimabara Peninsula

  •  When: Saturday, August 5, 2023, 14:00-16:00
  •  Where: Main Hall, Moridake Community Center
  •  Lecturer: Mr. Shigeaki Mori, Professor Emeritus, Fukuoka University

  ※Applications will be closed when the maximum number of participants (50 for each session) is reached.
